A Thanks Returned

I wanted to say thank you to the men of the 101st. We went to greet the troops returning through Dallas-Ft Worth airport on Saturday. We had some "goody bags" for the returning service men and women and my daughters were among those handing them out. My 5 yr old was dwarfed by the throng of kids around her who were anxious to greet their heroes. One man, a member of the 101st, noticed her and took the bag that she had been offering up for some time. To show his gratitude, he ripped off his Screaming Eagle badge, handed it to her, and then disappeared out of the airport. What a fabulous lesson of mutual gratitude he offered our family that day. We talked about it on the way home and told my daughter to keep that badge in a safe place. She has shown it to everyone she has seen the past two days. What a fine representative of your 101st Airbourne Division. I only wish I knew his name.
